Executive Director's Corner

Kae Unrein has been the Executive Director since May 2010.  She is a life long resident of Whatcom County.  Kae has previous experience with non-profits, as well as a background in teaching and banking.  She is excited to be working for Whatcom Love INC, and looks forward to the coming years. Feel free to email Kae to learn more about Love INC or how to get involved.

When I was asked why I wanted to work for Love INC, I simply said "Because I believe in the ministry."  The premise of Love INC is to unite local churches and have one entity that can connect people in need with those who want to help.  Love INC does the leg work.  Staff or volunteers screen the request to determine the legitimacy and extent of the need.  The request is then referred to the most appropriate Love INC network church, church volunteer, or agency to meet the need(s).  Love INC follows up to ensure the needs were met and to offer spiritual support.  The Love INC model just makes sense!

Love INC allows churches to be the hands and feet of Jesus and the bearer of God's love in situations where the need for that love is great.  Churches model unity of the Body of Christ as they work together across denominational lines to fulfill their Biblical mandate to help the poor and needy.  Church members receive opportunitites to use their unique gifts and talents to serve others.  Community agencies refer people in need to Love INC to fill gaps in services and also receive referrals from Love INC of verified needs that are appropriate to the agency's services.

Love INC is not just about meeting needs though; it's about building relationships that have the potential to transform lives.  Involvement in the ministry is rewarding and life changing for volunteers as well as those receiving the help.

I am humbled to be working alongside so many dedicated, caring and compassionate individuals.  We have the best volunteers!  YOU could be a part of this ministry.  Is the Holy Spirit moving you to "help those in need?"  Is there an area where you could help or have expertise?  Areas include, but are not limited to: auto maintenance/repair, trades assistance (carpentry, electrical, plumbing) and financial coaching.  Or could you help someone move or take someone to an appointment?  Maybe you would like to work in the clearinghouse answering the help line, help with our fundraiser, in our furniture warehouse, or even donate gently used furniture.  The possibilities are almost endless.

Thank you for visiting our website.  If you need assistance, please call Love INC.
