Furnished with Love

Furniture program is restricted to minimal function until further notice. Due to a consistent lack of enough volunteers, we are moved to suspend deliveries at this time. We will facilitate donations of a limited amount of furniture, if deliverd to us. Screened clients will be able to pick up furniture at our warehouse. Items we receive at this time are restricted to dining tables and chairs, end tables and dressers only. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please be aware of We Care, Salvation Army or Habitat for Humanity for furniture needs or donations if we are unable to help at this time.

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.” Acts 4:32-35 (NIV)

What if this was a description of Whatcom County? These words described a real group of people in the city of Jerusalem years ago. This was a real moment in history, according to this text, when after the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost in Jerusalem, the early church was moved with great humility, generosity and compassion, demonstrating the true nature of Jesus Christ. What if it happened again in our County?

“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” Hebrews 13:16 (NLT)
