Statement of Faith
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
History
In 1988 a group of six churches saw the need for consistent and expanded volunteer service, so they became an affiliate of Love INC.
In 2022, a building on Commercial Street was donated to the use of Love Inc. Currently, Mystery Thrift resides on the top floor and donates a percent of their proceeds to Whatcom Love INC. We Care, a low-cost clothing bank, is in the basement off the alley.
We are also looking towards the future, developing new programs and initiatives to “help the church help” address the complex needs of our community. Our Jesus Taxi program, launched in 2021, has helped us to reorganize around our central vision of mobilizing the church into relational mission, rather than simply meeting physical needs.
We emphasize praying together and learning from one another as we serve our community together in the spirit of Matthew 25.

Core Values
COMPASSION
We encourage and support one another in walking after Jesus’ heart, listening deeply to the needs and challenges of our neighbors who are experiencing poverty and distress. We lean into engaging with them — even when it is hard — and serve them by helping to connect their needs with resources in our congregations and community.
TRANSFORMATION
We find that relationships characterized by vulnerability, love, grace, hope, and forgiveness are a strong ground for transformed lives and the saving grace of the Spirit. As we engage compassionately with neighbors in need and one another, we seek to create opportunities for these kinds of relationships to be formed.
COLLABORATION
We work in the power of the Holy Spirit to build relationships, partnerships, and networks that equip local Christians for action and help us become better at following Jesus. Love INC is a framework that helps us come together as Christians and form partnerships with other organizations with whom we can find common goals.
