What we do: The Community Toy Store is an annual event in partnership with We Care and local churches to provide families with brand new toys, up to two per child, at a 75% markdown from retail prices. Parents are able to sign up with a number of local school districts and agencies, and shop at NW Baptist Church. We expect to be able to serve up to 250 referred families this holiday season. Dates for 2024 TBD.
How to help: The main way to help is to donate new toys and gift cards or volunteer to set up, help shoppers or clean up. Toys with a retail price between $12-$40 sell the best. Donated toys can be dropped off at NW Baptist Church (3545 NW Ave, Bellingham) at the designated time. Gift cards to department stores are also accepted and will be used to purchase more toys. $25 gift cards (to stores that do not sell food, alcohol or tobacco) will be available for teen gifts. Popular cards are for make up, jewelry, sporting goods, video games, electronics and clothing. Gift bags, wrapping paper, tags and tape are also accepted.
